Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy in St. Catharines & Across Ontario
Stop fighting your brain. Start working with it.
Do you often feel like everyone else received a “manual” for life that you never got? Do you find yourself exhausted from trying to fit into expectations that don’t feel natural to you?
If you have spent years being told you are “too sensitive,” “lazy,” or “just need to try harder,” you aren’t alone—and you aren’t broken. You might be navigating a world not built for your brain.
What is Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy?
Many traditional therapy models focus on “fixing” behaviors to make a person appear more “normal.” For neurodivergent folks, this often leads to masking—suppressing your true self to fit in—which is a direct path to burnout, anxiety, and deep feelings of “stuckness.”
My approach is different. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where we explore how your brain processes the world. Whether you are formally diagnosed, self-diagnosed, or just questioning, you are welcome here.
We Focus On:
-
✓
Unmasking: Learning who you are beneath the layers of social expectations. -
✓
Executive Function: Finding systems for “stuckness,” procrastination, and overwhelm that actually work for your brain. -
✓
Sensory Needs: Understanding your sensory profile to reduce overstimulation and burnout. -
✓
Self-Advocacy: Learning how to ask for what you need in relationships and at work.
Who I Work With
I work with adults and youth in St. Catharines (In-Person) and throughout Ontario (Online).
ADHD
ADHD isn’t just about being “distracted.” It can look like paralysis when trying to start a task, intense rejection sensitivity (RSD), or a mind that never quiets down. We work together to move from shame to understanding.
Autism & AuDHD
If you struggle with social burnout, sensory processing, or feeling misunderstood, this is a space to process without “performing” neurotypicality. I frequently work with AuDHD, exploring the dynamic of craving routine while seeking novelty.
Queer & Neurodivergent
As a Queer-affirming therapist, I understand the intersection. You don’t need to explain your gender or your sensory needs. This is a safe space to bring your whole self.
Moving Through “Stuckness”
A common theme for neurodivergent folks is the feeling of being stuck—stuck in a career that doesn’t fit, stuck in burnout, or stuck in shame spirals.
Because I specialize in helping people navigate uncertainty and unfulfillment, my goal is to help you break free from the “stuckness” not by forcing yourself to be someone else, but by leaning into your strengths.
